Funded by the Department of Housing and Urban Development, the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program is a federally funded grant assistance program, administered at the state level by the Kentucky Department for Local Government. The purpose of the CDBG program is to provide funding to cities and counties for community development projects. The funds can be used for activities related to housing, infrastructure, economic development, and other community projects. CDBG funds have been used in the CVADD for such things as construction of senior centers, water and sewer plants, water and sewer line development, housing rehabilitation, and economic development projects.
