The CVADD assists communities with the location of new and the expansion of existing businesses. CVADD makes low interest loans to eligible companies through the Revolving Loan Fund. Additionally, CVADD provides assistance to communities and companies in obtaining business financing through Rural Development, the Cabinet for Economic Development, Community Development Block Grant, the Small Business Administration, etc. Communities benefit directly from these programs by an increase in the overall tax base through retaining or generating employment opportunities. The importance of public-private partnerships is demonstrated by the CVADD’s commitment to business programs. A successful coordination of community, state, and federal programs has formed important partnerships and joint ventures in planning, developing, and financing economic development projects.

The Business Program is funded by the U.S. Department of Commerce, Economic Development Administration Revolving Loan Program and The Appalachian Regional Commission.
