National Family Caregiver Support Program

Family caregivers are the invisible backbone of the American health care system, providing over 80% of all home care services.  Despite their tremendous role in providing care, family caregivers are often neither trained nor supported in their efforts.

The Family Caregiver Support Program recognizes the needs of the caregiver and addresses those needs by offering a diverse range of direct services.  The ultimate goal of the caregiver initiative is to improve the health and well-being of the family caregiver and to recognize the continually expanding role they play due to the constant shifting of cost and care provided in a home setting.  In order for caregivers to continue in their efforts, they need information, training, and assistance in many areas.  This program is an attempt to assist with those issues.
